"I just love everything about this college; it’s making my dream come true. 

I’ve been going to M State since 2016, taking classes in massage therapy, esthetics and nails. It’s close to home for me, only about three minutes away, and they have all the courses I want to take, so it’s very handy. The programs are amazing, and the staff is really nice; they help students and really know their stuff. Sheila (Overland) is great, very friendly and professional. 

I’m from Brazil, originally, and moved to the U.S. over 20 years ago. I’ve been in Wadena for 20 years; my husband was from here. He passed away in 2018, and last year, I was diagnosed with cancer and had to take a break from classes during treatment. So my life was uprooted for a while. But I came back to M State, and I’m happy to say I’m cancer-free now.

I currently work as a massage therapist at a chiropractic office in Brainerd, but hope to open a salon when I’m finished with school. I have one last class, and am really excited to graduate and start working.

My advice to any students thinking about their futures is to have your dreams and fly; follow your dreams and your heart.
